CMS College Kottayam is an educational institution located 200 metres from Kottayam Baker Junction to Kumarakom Road. The CMS College is the first Western-style college in India established in 1817, the college is a heritage building frequently renovated to maintain its functionality and strength. The construction includes different materials, including wood and laterite. The campus is large, with a wide range of architectural elements adding to its glory. 1. The problem

The college in charge, Mr. Santhosh, contacted us to assist in renovations during Covid19 lockdown. Upon site inspection, our team detected a large extent of Termite and Mupli Beetle infestation. Both pests can lead to property damage to the extent that the property becomes completely inhabitable. 

The client tried to self-treat the facility using chemical sprays but no professional equipment and lack of knowledge did no good to the problem.

2. Major challenges

Two major challenges that our team had to tackle in this case were:

• Old construction with excessive use of wood and laterite makes huge pests, especially termite breeding grounds. Also, the construction was vulnerable considering its age.
• The campus is very large presenting a large area to cover for pest control treatments. 

3. Solution

Our team performed a site inspection and found colonies of termites and Mupli Beetles. It took us great time and effort to cover the large campus area and minutely inspect every part of the property. We worked collectively as a team and by using the latest tech and tools, were able to treat the site for termites and other pests by offering detailed Anti-termite treatment in Kottayam and pest control treatment  

4. Implementation

We made a strategic plan to handle the infestation which included:

• Identifying termite colonies and destroying them
• Injecting chemicals through floor and walls to prevent future attacks

A team of 14 technicians worked on the first stage of project for termite colony removal over a week to ensure an effective termite treatment in Kottayam. 

5. Results

The work was completed in 2019, and the site is now completely termite and pest free and will continue to be the same as our anti-termite treatment comes with a 5-year service guarantee. 

The client was happy with the results and has not reported any recurrence of Termites at the property. We frequently treat the property for other types of pests including Mupli Beetle as they require periodic treatment.
