Why Pre-Construction Anti-Termite Treatment Matters

The Kattanam area has a lot of moisture in places where water can collect. This can create an environment for termites.

Termites can also enter a building through the soil and foundation of the home if proper preventive measures are not in place for the new home.

The Project

The project was a two-story brick-built house with a total built-up area of approximately 1,874 sq. Ft. The ground floor covered 1,000 sq. ft., and the pre-construction anti-termite treatment was carried out across this area of the new home. The treatment was completed during the construction stage, giving the house termite protection before it was fully completed.

The Treatment Process

DFM Greenland India carried out the pre-construction anti-termite treatment during the construction stage of the new home.

The treatment focused on areas where termites could potentially enter the house through the soil and foundation of the home. Carrying out the treatment during construction helps make termite protection part of the building process for the home instead of waiting until a termite problem appears in the new home.

The process include;

• The site is inspected to understand the soil condition, building layout, foundation design, and areas vulnerable to termite entry.
• Termiticide is applied to the soil in and around foundation trenches, creating a protective barrier.

• The soil surrounding foundation walls and structural elements is treated to prevent termites from moving from the ground into the building.
• After foundation work, the soil used for backfilling is treated with an appropriate termiticide before it is compacted.
• Before laying the floor slab, the soil beneath the floor area is treated to form a continuous termite-resistant barrier.

The Result

The anti-termite construction treatment was completed for the project of the new home. The house now has termite protection in place from the construction stage, helping reduce the risk of future termite entry for the new home.

For the homeowner, this provides added peace of mind knowing that termite protection was taken care of before the house was completed.

5-Year Warranty

The treatment comes with a 5-year warranty for the home. If termite activity is found during the warranty period, the required corrective treatment will be provided free of cost, subject to the warranty terms and conditions for the new home.
